Online Dating

Image
Online Dating has always been something I've been terrible at and/or never really cared for. I don't know why people use it but I find it a waste of time as you could meet people in person (the old fashioned way) instead of using mobile apps. I find it a lot easier to meet people my age by going out into the world instead of using Tinder or any other online dating website. I'm sure that it helps a lot of people that have insecurities and anxiety problems but it shouldn't be the main way that people meet. Anyways, the meaning of this blog is to tell you about the math behind everything that has to do with online dating and matching. It's really quite interesting and this video has everything on it.

Movie Review | Avengers: Infinity War

Image
This movie is going to be hard to review without any spoilers but I will attempt to. Avengers: Infinity War starts out right where Thor: Ragnarok ended which is just awesome. The two movies connect so well, so if you haven't seen Thor: Ragnarok I recommend watching it because it has some important backstory to Avengers: Infinity War. The movie is very long but for obvious reasons, it has been 10 years in the making. It brought together most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe into one movie. It is an epic film that is worth multiple watches in the theatre. The cliffhanger at the end ties into a new Hero whose movie will come out March 6, 2019. The next Avengers movie will arrive in theatres on May 9th, 2019. I recommend watching this movie at least once while it's in theatres. My rating is 10/10.

Country Music

Image
Country Music, when you hear those two words you may think of cheesy repetitive songs that are annoying. But in my opinion you'd be wrong, because there's just something about it that just calls out to me, it's one of the reasons why Country is my most listened to genre. As you can see in the picture below my Top 5 Artists from 2017 are all Country, and I'm assuming for 2018 the trend will be the same, only with a lot more minutes of listen time. I've actually changed a lot of my friends minds about country, they use to hate it and now they surprisingly like it. I'd recommend at least trying it (start with my top artists) and if you like it then great, but if you don't then that's fine too.

Movie Review | Pacific Rim: Uprising

Image
I saw Pacific Rim: Uprising a few weeks ago and I must say for an action movie it was great. Without spoiling anything I can tell you that the plot actually somewhat picked up where the first Pacific Rim ended, but just over a decade later. The fighting scenes with the giant monsters aka "Kaiju" vs the giant robots called "Jaegers" were great, the CGI was incredible and watching it in 3D was a blast (literally). I recommend watching this movie while you still can. My rating is 7/10.

Port Saint Joe

Image
Brothers Osborne’s new album, Port Saint Joe , cuts across every fence trying to pen music up. The opening cut, Slow Your Roll , kicks off with John Osborne’s free jazz runs up and down his guitar frets, inviting us into the spacious rooms of the rest of the album. The gentle murmur of the Gulf lap over Osborne’s guitars before TJ’s vocals lead into a funky shuffle that urges us to slow down and “take a little break from the rat race/Pour a little heaven on ice … The Lord’s been talking through the weather/A Sunday sermon in a sundown sky/Don’t think I could say it any better/So, I think I’m gonna take that advice.” In the propulsive rocker of a breakup song, Shoot Me Straight , the singer begs his lover to give him no shit about the breakup: “Make it burn the whole way down/Lay my 6 foot 4 inch ass out on the ground/Yeah, tomorrow I’ll have me one a hard hangover/And one hell of a heartache/So, pour a shot of whiskey/And shoot me straight.” John Osborne’s soaring lead riffs on the b

Southwest Flight 1380

Image
The recent accident of Flight 1380 has caused some ruckus in the aviation industry as of late, but Southwest Airlines seems to be moving on relatively quickly. They have already given all of the passengers $5,000 dollars and a $1,000 travel voucher. This was the first death of a passenger on a US Airline flight since 2009, and the very first for Southwest Airlines. This is a recording of the conversation between Flight 1380 and Air Traffic Control.

Yes Theory

Image
I have been a fan of Yes Theory for some time now. They are a group of guys from around the world that do things that are uncomfortable. In fact, their motto is "Seek Discomfort" and it is absolutely brilliant. It has actually helped me with my social anxiety to an extent. Granted I still can't go up to a random person and spark up a conversation. Baby steps right? Anyways, so Yes Theory is a pretty popular YouTube channel that has gained a lot of ground in the past few months. In the video below, they ask totally random people if they want to go skydiving with them. Some people actually say Yes and go on an adventure with them, as complete strangers. I think I would instantly say Yes if they came up to me asking to do something crazy. I want to seek discomfort.
